Tool comparisons, head to head
Honest breakdowns of the popular Reddit and social listening tools - and where PluckLead fits as the intent-scored, read-only alternative.
Four kinds of tool get called "Reddit monitoring"
Most confusion in this category comes from comparing tools that do different jobs. Work out which job you need done first.
- Alert tools send you every match for a keyword. F5Bot is free and covers Reddit well. Syften adds filters and more sources. You do the judging and the writing.
- Social listening suites such as Brand24 and Mention track your brand across the web and social media. They suit marketing teams who report on reputation, and they are priced for those teams.
- Lead tools such as PluckLead read each match, score it for buying intent and draft a reply. You still edit and post it yourself.
- Posting tools reply for you, sometimes from accounts they supply. The ban risk in this category sits here, because Reddit's rules ask for authentic participation and the account that posts is the one that pays for breaking them.
What the main tools cost
| Tool | Price | Writes the reply | Posts for you | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PluckLead | $29 / mo | Yes | Yes | Never |
| Linkeddit | $29 / mo | Yes | Yes | No |
| Syften | $29.95 to $119.95 / mo | Yes | No | No |
| Bazzly | $199 / mo | Yes | Yes | Yes, from accounts it supplies |
| F5Bot | Free, paid tier available | Yes | No | No |

Which one to pick
- You have one keyword and more time than money: start with F5Bot. It is free and you may never need more.
- You want cleaner alerts across several communities: look at Syften.
- You report on brand reputation to a marketing team: use a suite like Brand24 or Mention.
- You want to know which matches are buyers, and you want a first draft: that is the job we built PluckLead for. We make it, so weigh this line accordingly.
Check that the tool will still be here
Longevity is a real question in this category. GummySearch closed to new signups on 30 November 2025 and deletes every account on 1 December 2026, after it could not reach a commercial Reddit Data API licence, according to their own shutdown notice. If you are moving off it, our GummySearch alternatives page covers the options. Before you commit to any tool, including ours, look for a public changelog and a way to get your data out. Ours is here.
